NATIONAL ZOO CONDITION ASSESSMENT

Project Owner:  The Smithsonian Institute

• Seal Engineering, Inc., working as a consultant to the A/E prime firm, prepared a comprehensive field survey and detailed assessment of roofing systems and components for both the major buildings and the accessory buildings at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Zoological Park
• The report provided record documentation of the site conditions and serves as an ongoing reference document for the Facilities Management staff to assist in planning and budgeting for future maintenance, repair, and replacement projects
• In addition to the report, Seal Engineering, Inc. completed several roof replacement designs and provided technical services during construction
